About 2.40pm on Sunday, May 5, police received information that a man currently wanted over outstanding domestic violence offences was at an address in North Casino.
When police attended the address the man fled through the rear of the property and jumped several fences. A police dog unit attended the location, and a track was commenced.
The police dog successfully tracked the suspect to a nearby residence where the male was in the roof attempting to hide himself under the ceiling insulation.
Police said negotiations to have the male voluntarily come out of the hiding place and surrender were not successful, and to effect the arrest safely police had to utilise officers from the police rescue squad.
Once removed from the roof, the man was taken to Lismore Police Station and charged with the outstanding domestic violence matters as well as four counts of assaulting police and resisting police.
The man was refused bail to appear before the Local Court today, Monday, May 6.
